A Ride In A Dodge Charger Pursuit With Steve Guttenberg

Steve Guttenberg may not be a real cop, but that didn’t stop Police Academy’s Officer Mahoney from patrolling the mean streets of N.Y.C. in Dodge’s badass new high-tech cop car.

“My dad was a cop,” Steve Guttenberg says as he zips through Manhattan with Maximeditors Patrick Carone and Seth Porges in a Dodge Charger Pursuit—a souped-up cop car that will soon be used by officers nationwide. “Now where’s the siren?” The Police Academy icon looks down at a control panel filled with a dozen or so buttons and pushes one, causing a wail that serves to instantly clear up any confusion about the legality of our operation. “You wanna call your lawyers now or wait till we get to the station?”

Video: 1969 Pontiac GTO: Superbad!

Roger Poirier's 1969 Pontiac GTO is a car that has lived in Roger's family for a long time... several decades, in fact. Today, this super-clean GTO is sporting a fresh restoration and Pro-Touring conversion with upgraded suspension parts, a hot Pontiac V8, and amazing black paint. The interior is red, the wheels are chrome, it all adds up to a car that lacks nothing in execution or style.

1978 Special Edition "Bandit" Trans Am

Photo: Allmusclecars.com

I purchased my Special Edition "Bandit" Trans Am in May of '06 by being in the right place at the right time. I was getting ready to head out to Boise, Idaho for my niece's First Communion on a Thursday morning and just before turning in for the night, I thought I would see what was new on eBay. Well how about that, a '78 Black Special Edition appeared. After I read through the info on the car, and looked at the pictures, I scrolled back to the top only to find that the car was, you guessed it, in BOISE. Well, I sent the seller my cell number and asked him to call me the next day when I arrived in Boise. Well, long story short, I saw the car, drove it, looked at the paperwork, and yep, bought it right off the lot.

"Bullitt" Chase in 2011: Music video for a Grammy winning artist

When was the last time the Black Charger was chased through the streets of San Francisco by the Green Bullitt Mustang? I mean, really chased, in real life, not on the movie screen or on a DVD. You would all have to say it was in 1968 when the cult classic movie "Bullitt" was being filmed. Not so! It happened on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, on a bright and sunny San Francisco day. I kid you, not. We were there!

The video posted here is the raw video taken with my my mini HD hand cam. Hopefully we will be getting the professional video soon! When I do keep your eyes open. I will be posting more footage here!

Lee 1: "The most famous television car in the world"

Photo: Autoblog.com
What's "the most famous television car in the world"? We suppose that depends on who you ask, but to many, nothing but the General Lee could possibly hold the title.

Of course, there wasn't just one General Lee. In fact, scores of orange Dodge Chargers were filmed for "The Dukes of Hazzard," and most of them never survived their first televised escapade.

Not so Lee 1, so named because it was the car that famously jumped over a Hazzard County police cruiser in the very first episode of the hit series. If you've ever seen the opening credits, you know the car we're talking about... it flew 16 feet in the air over a distance of 82 feet. And, as you may have guessed, it didn't exactly stick the landing.
